LINDA MURPHY

Scholar & Host Family Support Coordinator

Linda is the Student Support Coordinator for Bridge2Rwanda Scholars. She advocates academically, socially and personally for scholars throughout the years they are studying abroad and provides support and encouragement to host families. She works to support scholar success and help them meet their many challenges by building strong relationships, engaging in frequent communication, finding and solving problems as well as offering advice and counsel. Linda earned BS and MS degrees from Northern Illinois University and a doctorate degree in educational leadership from Vanderbilt University. Prior to joining Bridge2Rwanda Scholars, Linda served as a teacher, principal and superintendent in various suburban Chicago schools and an independent school in the U.S. Virgin Islands. She also served as headmaster of an independent school for gifted and talented students and taught university graduate level courses in leadership. Linda lives in suburban Chicago where she also serves as host family to three Bridge2Rwanda Scholars.
