Transforming Agriculture

The Mission

Teach conservation agriculture practices, as developed by Foundations for Farming, to achieve food security, improve the lives of small-scale farmers, and launch the careers of young, agriculture professionals.

The Challenge

Food insecurity continues to be a significant problem for millions of low-income families across Africa.

Traditional farming practices, include tilling and pulverizing the soil into granular particles, stripping and burning organic matter, and applying increasing amounts of chemical fertilizers.

These methods degrade the soil, increase costs, lead to decreasing crop yields and leave farmers more vulnerable to droughts and soil erosion.

Double the crop yields of Rwanda’s 2.4 million small-scale farmers, while lowering input costs by 20% and labor by 45%, to:

Eliminate Food Insecurity

Reduce Impact of Climate Change

Accelerate Growth of Commercial Agriculture
