What is Isomo?

Isomo is an education program that boldly tackles the crisis of literacy, critical thinking, and university access in Rwanda.

We achieve this through robust Africa-centered learning interventions and curriculum that use language acquisition as a vehicle of ideas, knowledge, and skills that bolster critical thinking and holistic human flourishing in the 21st Century.

The Challenge

Poor English, critical thinking and digital literacy continue to be persistent bottlenecks that prevent Rwandans from reaching their full potential.

The convergence of low literacy rates and limited digital access has resulted in an economic disenfranchisement that is stifling Rwanda’s human capital development and its citizens’ capacity to maximize their potential.

Bursting Bottlenecks

Today, only 15% of Rwanda's 13.5 million citizens have a

high school diploma.

Only 3% possess a

university degree.

The average Rwandan high school student spends less than 10 hours on the internet per school year.

In today’s global world, it all begins with improving English and internet proficiency.

Mastering these essential skills leads to improved critical thinking and to opening doors of opportunity, where anything is possible.
