As College Counselor for the Bridge2Rwanda Scholars gap-year program, Joy Beth walks students through the college search and application process. In both one-on-one and classroom settings, she helps students develop their personal essays and college lists all the while boosting their critical thinking and writing skills. In addition, Joy Beth serves as one of the Student Advisors. She stays connected to Scholars throughout their four years abroad, offering encouragement, providing guidance, and maintaining accountability.
Previously, Joy Beth worked as an Admissions Counselor at Vanderbilt University and then as a College Counselor at Franklin Road Academy - both in Nashville, TN. She earned her undergraduate degree with a major in marketing and a minor in international human sciences at Auburn University in 2006. She later completed her M.Ed. in higher education administration with an emphasis in student affairs from Vanderbilt University.
Joy Beth loves working with students on a daily basis and feels that her roles at B2R truly fit her giftings, talents, and passions.
