As apart of an ongoing lesson about Rwanda, some Estem Elementary teachers invited Bridge2Rwanda to visit with their students about Rwandan culture.
Students made a candy cane craft, sang Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, and packed a box with pepermint candy canes and a book about Rudolph. A video and the gifts will be presented to the students at Sonrise to show the fun that surrounds Christmas in America.
Estem teacher Jessi Files went to Rwanda this summer and has carried her experiences into the classroom where she has the goal of making her students think globally. During her visit, Jessi worked with a primary class at Sonrise where she took pictures of students to hang in her classroom. Bridge2Rwanda team members will deliver the gifts when returning to Rwanda after the holidays. Cards and a video from the Rwandan students will be brought back to Estem.
